Weekend with Travel Buddies: Friday

Rachel Claire and I wanted to make the most of our opportunity to see our China buddies, so we traveled up to Anderson to hang out with the Ross and Humbert families on Friday night. Of course I forgot our swimsuits...but figured, since Rachel Claire isn't that into swimming, it wouldn't matter. Well low and behold, the girls (Sophie, Chloe & Sidney) were having so much fun in the water, she really wanted to go. So, luckily, Sydney had an extra suit and we dispensed with the need for the swim diaper (for a short swim!) and Rachel Claire jumped right into the pool with Christina & Julie - who each had two girls in hand. It was fun to watch!

As everyone got dried off and ready for dinner, the girls played in the hotel room and then we headed to dinner....we almost didn't make it through dinner but luckily Rachel Claire rallied from her meltdown and we had a lovely chat. It was especially interesting to hear about Christina & Julie's trip to China which included a stay in Zhanjiang, Sydney & Rachel Claire's hometown. C & J have some wonderful ideas for helping the orphanages in China and the kids who are still there. Stay tuned for more about Pearl River Outreach.

Meanwhile, I've been neglecting to mention the Wise family's latest enterpreneurial effort...Bugaboo Shoes! These are adorable shoes for kids, made in China. Check them out, they are precious! If I could get Rachel Claire to wear anything other than her purple Crocs, I'd buy some in an instant!

Ok, I think this gets me caught up for a while now, whew!
