Rachel Claire is in a wonderful Girl Scout Troop started by some brilliant moms a few years ago. It is all girls adopted from China, and they use their Chinese heritage to influence some of their activities. This one is a case in point...the girls got together to submit an entry to the Connor Prairie Gingerbread contest...apparently a few years ago (before Rachel Claire was old enough to participate), the Troop swept the field with some wonderful gingerbread pagodas...so this year, the task was to create the Great Wall of Gingerbread...which was really awesome!
The wonderful Girl Scout Leaders who planned this event are truly amazing...they planned out their creation very carefully, even numbering the gingerbread pieces according to where they went on the wall...and they also created a fun activity for the girls to do to create their own gingerbread house while they were taking turns working on the Great Wall. It was a great experience and perfect timing to use up some left over Halloween candy.
