My project over the holiday break (2 weeks at home with Rachel Claire) was to paint the basement...I knew I would need some help keeping Rachel Claire from helping too much with the painting so we invited Rachel Claire's pal Myra over to practice her babysitting skills for when she gets old enough. It worked out really well, Myra was great with Rachel Claire and Rachel Claire was thrilled to be playing with such a big kid. The highlight of the day was making a big "parade" of all of Rachel Claire's stuffed animals (this was on New Year's Day after we watched the Rose Bowl parade -- Go Buckeyes!). Of course taking the parade apart (tied together with string) was not as fun although there were scissors involved...
Speaking of Buckeyes, I was telling Rachel Claire that my college team was the Buckeyes (as we were watching the Rose Bowl). Later she was asking me about the "butt-guys" and I had no idea what she was talking about (thought she was being inappropriate actually) until I figured out she was talking about the Buckeyes!! :-)
Needless to say, I did not get the basement finished yet...hopefully soon!
