a visit to cousins alex & ella

Our final escapade in December was a trip to Aunt Rachel & Uncle Dave's house. There are too many details to note here but let's just say it was a challenge. Not because of anything Rachel, Dave or the kids (Alex & Ella) did but just so many other things (the flight there, finding more lice, daily meltdowns by RC, etc.). It was nice to see the kids and get to know them a bit better. They are quite fun and seemed to get along well with Rachel Claire.

Rachel Claire took a ski lesson which she seemed to enjoy. We also went ice skating for the first time in 2 years and she really took to it. She wasn't scared and had good balance! Finally, Uncle Dave took the 3 kids (soon only 2, Ella wanted to go inside for some hot chocolate...with Aunt Rachel)

It is just so beautiful out there all the time -- especially in the winter. And it is always cool to hang out with Rachel & Dave, even if I was having my own personal meltdowns....
