But there are several things to share with you and I must apologize for not writing much in April, I had a little event to plan for work and it was completely crazy.
Rachel Claire has learned how to do several things since I last wrote. She can zip up her jackets by herself now. She can ride her trike pretty well -- although she seems to be better at getting to the park than she is at getting home...not sure if that has to do with the fact that it is slightly downhill on the way to the park or that she's less motivated on the way home from the park.
She can also do a puzzle that I got in China all by herself, its kind of hard so I'm excited that she's figured it out.
There are two other pieces of news to share. One is that we are committed to going to St. Richard's in the fall. Everything worked out for us to go there and I am feeling good about that (at least for now). And second, we are imposing a summer clothes moratorium for Rachel Claire!!! The other day I stayed home from work to do some things around the house, one of which was washing big heaps of dirty laundry and also sorting through which clothes still fit for this summer, putting winter ones away and reviewing a big heap of adorable hand-me-downs from our friend Katy Seiwert. Between what still fits from last year (a lot - still fitting into most 2T shorts and skirts), a few new things I got this year from Once Upon a Child and the hand-me-downs from Katy and some other people who generously share their outgrown stuff with us, Rachel Claire has enough clothes to get through the entire summer without wearing the same thing twice!!!! We are so lucky to have wonderful friends who think of us for gently used things.
And pretty soon, we'll have to stop sending hand-me-downs to Alex & Ella because they are going to pass up Rachel Claire in size even though they are two years younger! Those are the good things about being small for your age....Ok, I am feeling a wee bit less emotionally drained, although I must admit, I am mentally ready for bed at this moment (7:50 pm).
