Like this

So, there are lots of things to report on today....first, the funny sayings and such. Later you'll hear about the bathtub meltdown but there are a couple of funny things about the bathtub that have been happening recently. We have big plastic cups in the bathtub for pouring and such. Well sometimes, Rachel Claire will take those cups and put them on her feet and walk around in the bathtub - ouch! I know some of you are saying, why do you let her do that??? She could fall down and get hurt. Yes, that is true, but she seems to have pretty good balance on them and she really doesn't do it all that often but jeez, it doesn't look pleasant. She's also been talking about "going to the beach" when she's in the bathtub. I told her that we were going to the beach soon and she wants to put on her swim suit....but its going to be a bit too cold for that in Virginia Beach over the holidays, unfortunately!

The sweetest thing Rachel Claire said to me the other day is: You're my best friend Mama Kitty! Awwww.

So here are some photos of a neighborhood holiday party which included a visit to Santa...this was the first time that RC sat on Santa's lap and it took Becky the babysitter and I to go with her to sit with Santa. Rachel Claire did great and didn't seem too scared. And Santa brought her a purple My Little Pony.

Then there are some snow pictures, we tried to make a snowman, but apparently I need to bone up on that skill. I made a tiny little snow man and we played in the snow for a bit but it was kind of cold!! Especially when one has a skirt on...

Finally, the cutest pictures of the presentation at Panda School last Sunday. Usually there are 8 or 9 girls in Rachel Claire's class but on this day (granted the day after a snow), there was only Rachel Claire and Amanda (the most advanced kid in the class, luckily for us!). So they practiced their song and went up to the front of the cafeteria at Carmel High School in front of all of the Panda School kids and parents (and they had to go first no less) and did a great job! Rachel Claire knew more than I thought she did...we've been slackers somewhat in our practicing. Then they sang a song with the next class up, where there were more kids to share the stage with.

Now I know one person in my immediate family (and perhaps others) is going to say, why wasn't Rachel Claire wearing her cute little chinese outfit which she has never worn and will be too big for soon or at least a cute little dress up outfit (of which we have several - thanks to many people including our babysitter Becky). That is a legitimate question but the answer is, both RC and I were battling the beginning of colds (including sore throats & coughs) that day, not to mention the show shovelling, etc., so I just didn't feel up to getting out a special outfit and hoping that Rachel Claire would be up for wearing it. I know she looks a little scruffy compared to all of those other girls (I could write a whole paragraph about hair brushing but I'll save that for later) but I figured at least she had a skirt on!

So the most recent story is one about a bath and hairwash gone awry last night. Suffice it to say that RC went to bed with no snack and no books (and no tooth brushing, etc.). It was not pleasant for either of us but hopefully we'll be able to get a hairwash in this evening.

Oh yeah, then there's the title of this post: "like this". Rachel Claire has taken to showing me how things have happened during the day by saying, such and such did so and so, like this, and then demonstrating...its kind of amusing.

Happy Holidays everyone!
