Strawberry Festival - what not to do

So, I had big plans to meet up with Bab and Maya and go to the Strawberry Festival before it got too crowded....but, it didn't work out that way. We ended up there right at noon, when it was at its most crowded. My mom was a trooper, watching Rachel Claire (restless) and Maya (calm and patient) for an HOUR while Bab and I waited in the hot sun to get our strawberries and such. Whew, don't recommend that route with two 2 year olds!

Meanwhile, we are still getting lots of: what's that? And more recently, mimicking my "wait a minute" and "two minutes" (I think that one's from Tina, I don't recall saying it). And in general I can tell that Rachel Claire is expanding her talking skills and vocabulary.

Still no word on the new job scene, waiting to hear from a bank about an offer they've made...I really want it, I hope it works out! Trying to investigate a few other things that have bubbled to the top, but I'm really tired of the job search!

And, although the grass isn't growing at all, the weeds sure are, and I'm wishful that my yard guy, Jose, will come by and help get rid of those for me....perhaps he can hear my mental telepathy!

Check out precious Maya who always seems so quiet, calm and well-behaved, but really isn't all the time according to Bab....Rachel Claire and Maya seemed to get along well in the sandbox.

Maya's dog Joe, who reminds me a bit of Spike

And Sierra, taking a break from chasing squirrels in Maya's big backyard
