100K

No, that's not the salary at my new job...its what my car mileage just arrived at! Yikes, the first car I've had (of 3 total) to get to 100k. The dangers of blogging mean that you document all kinds of things you might not otherwise.....

Rachel Claire is now talking up a storm. Sometimes I have to keep her talking all the way home from Tina's so that she doesn't have a meltdown on the way home (yesterday she wailed in her crib for 20+ minutes because I wouldn't give her chocolate for dinner....). So we talk about everyone we know, what everyone's pet's names are, etc. She is great at remembering people who aren't around. My friend Greg came over this past Sunday and we really don't see him that often, but she's been talking about him ever since. This manifests itself in Rachel Claire saying "bye Greg!" several times a day. She also looks out the window and when I ask her what or who is out there she'll say "Tammie!" or "Amy!".

The other day in the car we were jamming to some Outkast, RC was definitely grooving to it in her car seat, it was hilarious.

Another funny anecdote has to do with the fact that RC has learned how to ask "Where's whoever or whatever?" So one day last week there was a lot of fog on the way to Tina's. So I said look at all of the fog. And for several days after that Rachel Claire would say "Where are you fog?" All the way to Tina's. To add to the humor, when she says fog, it sounds like a bad word that starts with f. :-)

You can see in these photos that we went to little Anna's first birthday party last weekend. Anna's mom, Michelle, who seems to totally have everything together, despite having only been home with Anna for 3 months (I was still emerging from shell-shock at that time), got these cute little pig cakes for the guests and Anna. Its the year of the Pig in the Chinese calendar. And of coure Michelle also had cute little pig gifts for her guests, and the stuffed Boynton piggy is now Rachel Claire's favorite thing to take with her everywhere, including to bed. It will need to get into a photo soon....

Finally, our wonderful neighborhood babysitter Becky's mom got Rachel Claire the cutest little dress....I can't wait for her to have an occasion to wear it, it is adorable! Check it out at the end. We are so lucky to have so many friends and people who think of us often.

check out these cute little pig barrettes from Robin & Josie (that Robin got in Shanghai!)
