We don't get to see our cousins the Smiley twins very often...so when they said they were coming to Chicago, we jumped at the chance to visit! It was a snowy drive up on Thursday night (we played hooky on Friday), but we arrived safely. Rachel Claire was a trooper. We went to the Museum of Science and Industry on Friday, which I vaguely remember going to as a kid with my dad...and bonus, it was free in January!!
It was fun to stay in a hotel in mid-town...even though we didn't try to walk anywhere because one member of our family, who shall remain nameless, has a hard time walking very far...even though she can skip, run and flip all over the place! :-) Maybe next time we can check out our surroundings more.
Rachel Claire and Ella got along swimmingly...although I missed a great picture of them walking in front of us holding hands, immediately after seeing each other for the first time in at least a year! I think I missed a lot of pictures, I seem to be getting out of practice. Alex was happy to hang out and do whatever! Especially at the full-sized submarine that was inside the building, wow!
Dinner at Dave's sister Meg's house was fun too...other than the difficult departure. Sure wish we got to see the Smileys more often -- need to figure out how we are going to get to Colorado soon!
