We originally had luge tickets for today but because of the logistics of getting to Whistler Mountain, we gave them to our hosts, Roger & Holly. Roger took their son Will and I think they had a good time...it's a good thing we didn't go as they didn't get home until midnight!
We went to the Vancouver Aquarium in the morning (which is in lovely Stanley Park which is just past downtown) and we had a few struggles. It is a cool place, with some beautiful Pacific dolphins with unique coloring. We had lunch there (outside!) and got a stuffed seal (among other things) at the gift shop...more about this later.
In the afternoon we went to Granville Island, a cool place with lots of shops, a kids market and a huge farmer's market/food court. There was a big kids play area at the kids market that Rachel Claire played around in for a while. And at the public market, we saw a guy playing accordion who was very passionate about his playing, he was quite entertaining. Then I saw a crepe place and decided to get a banana and Nutella crepe (reminiscent of a trip to Paris in my younger days). Rachel Claire liked the Nutella just fine but of course didn't want to eat the banana...oy!
On the way home we tried to go to the Olympic Store (in side the Hudson Bay Store) but the line was all the way around the block (more about this later too...).
