Rachel Claire's friend Alex had a joint birthday party with her friend Hollis. This caused quite a bit of anxiety for Rachel Claire because she was afraid Alex wouldn't play with her at the party because she thought Alex would only play with Hollis (some of this stemmed from attendance at a birthday party where she only knew the birthday girl and wouldn't play with anyone else). Rachel Claire knew Hollis from Princess Camp but wasn't sure she wanted Hollis to be Alex's friend. Its hard to grasp the concept that you can be friends with more than one person at at ime at this age.
But, alas, the party went well, Rachel Claire had a great time and was even comfortable enough for me to go shopping for a bit during the party -- yay! I came back early for some cake though and to take a few more photos. There was face painting, musical chairs, dress up racing and wonderful goodie bag gifts (snappy flip-flops made by Meredith, Hollis' mom). Lots of fun was had by all!
