We had a good Thanksgiving weekend at Grandma's which included making gingerbread houses, going to the Cincinnati Zoo's festival of lights (and seeing Mrs. Claus), playing with favorite cousin Emma, visiting Grandpa Don & Suzanne, making Thanksgiving napkins and playing Twister with Aunt Wei (who is always a good sport about everything) but which did NOT include going to the UC v. Syracuse game..... :-(
Some other things that have been happening lately include:
(1) Rachel Claire counting the number of steps that go up our stairs (not very carefully) and getting a different number than how many steps go down our stairs (and not realizing that was impossible!). There are 16 stairs up and 14 stairs down! I didn't have the heart to tell her that that wasn't possible....
(2) RC prancing around in a pair of sunglassing saying, "Look Mom, I look like a model!"
(3) RC pulling the newly put up stocking down with its (heavy) holder from the mantel and getting a big (bloody) gash on her forehead. Ok, its not really that big, about a centimeter. This was a scary one for both of us and she's fine and now but a bit scared of the stockings and now understands that she needs to be gentle with them and not pull them down...not necessarily the way I would have liked for her to learn that lesson, but when your kid gets to be 4, you forget that you need to worry about stuff like that....of course she is still putting things in her mouth that are not appropriate, like the candycane zipper pull on her winter coat, ugh!
That's all for now, hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and will have a relaxing, enjoyable Christmas. I'm anticipating a wee blog hiatus when I am out of town at a conference next week but you never know what the weekend might bring. Perhaps I'll post photos of our lovely and good smelling Chrismast tree, which is up and decorated (and needs water!).
Keep an eye on the calendar for our the fun activities we have planned for this month!
